O People, listen to me in earnest, for I do not know whether I will meet you at this place again after this year.
Sanctity of Life and Property
Your blood, your property, and your honor are as sacred as this day, in this month, in this land. Let those present convey this message to those who are absent.
Abolition of Usury (Riba)
All forms of usury (riba) are abolished. Your capital is yours to keep — you shall not inflict nor suffer any injustice. Allah has judged that there shall be no riba.
Rights of Women
O People, it is true that you have certain rights over your women, but they also have rights over you. Treat them with kindness, for they are your partners and committed helpers.
Equality of Mankind
All humankind is from Adam and Hawwa (Eve). An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have superiority over an Arab. A white person has no superiority over a black person, nor a black over a white — except by piety and good action.
The Two Sources of Guidance
I leave behind me two things — the Quran and my Sunnah. If you hold fast to them, you will never go astray.
Final Declaration
O Allah, bear witness that I have conveyed Your message to Your people. And then the revelation came: 'This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as your religion.' (Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:3)
