Umrah Guide — The Lesser Pilgrimage (دليل العمرة)

A practical guide to performing Umrah — its rituals, step-by-step procedures, etiquette, and spiritual preparation.

Umrah, known as the lesser pilgrimage, can be performed at any time of the year. Unlike Hajj, it is not obligatory but highly recommended. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Umrah to Umrah is expiation for what is between them.'

The rituals include: Ihram from the meeqat, Tawaf around the Ka'bah (7 circuits), two raka'at at Maqam Ibrahim, Sa'i between Safa and Marwa, and shaving or trimming the hair (for men) / cutting a small portion (for women).

Performed with sincerity and devotion, Umrah purifies the soul and brings countless blessings.
